STADE’S RUM EXPERIENCE FAQs

1) WHERE IS STADE’S RUM EXPERIENCE?
We are located at West Indies Rum Distillery on North Brighton Road, to the west of Spring Garden Highway, in Black Rock in the southern parish of St. Michael, Barbados. Our GPS coordinates are 49F9+C8W.

2) HOW DO I GET THERE?
We are accessible by car and taxi. There is a small car park opposite the Stade’s Visitors Centre. 

3) WHAT ARE THE OPENING HOURS?

Open Tuesday – Saturday from 10:00 am – 5:00pm. Closed on Sunday and Monday. The last tour departs at 2:45 pm.

Tour times: 10:30 am, 10:45 am, 2:30 pm, 2:45 pm.

An official document issued by the Barbados Local Government or from any CARICOM country will be accepted as proof of residence.



5) HOW OFTEN DO THE EXPERIENCES RUN?
Tour Experiences run Tuesday – Saturday, from 10:30 am – 2:45 pm. Closed on Sunday and Monday.

4 Distillery Tours a day: 10:30 am, 10:45 am, 2:30 pm, 2:45 pm.

Brighton Beach Deck and Bar and Shop are open 10:00 am – 5:00 pm.

6) DO I NEED TO BOOK IN ADVANCE?
Reservations are highly recommended. Walk-ins are accepted on availability.

7) WHAT PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT?

We accept all major payment cards/solutions. Pay online using our booking portal, or in person upon arrival.

8) HOW DO I BOOK MY TICKETS?

9) HOW WILL I RECEIVE MY TICKETS?
Your tickets will be sent via email to the address you provide during booking, or you can download them at the end of the booking process.

10) DO I NEED TO PRINT MY TICKETS?

Tickets do not need to be printed, just show proof of purchase upon arrival.

11) HOW LONG WILL I SPEND AT THE DISTILLERY?

Tours last approximately 1 hour for the Distillery Tour Experience, and 2 to 2 1/2 hours for the Rum Heritage Tour Experience. We recommend that you arrive a minimum of 20 minutes before your scheduled tour time. Beach Club is open until 5:00 pm.

12) WHEN IS THE LAST ENTRY TO THE DISTILLERY EACH DAY?
The last entry is at 2:45 pm.

13) IS THE EXPERIENCE INDOORS?

This experience takes place in indoor and outdoor settings. Access to the facility is subject to change or limitation in the event of inclement weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

If we are obliged to cancel a tour due to adverse weather conditions or other safety factors, you will be given the option either to rebook for a later date or to receive full reimbursement.

14) CAN I TAKE PHOTOS DURING THE EXPERIENCE?

Yes, for most of the tour photography is welcomed. However, photography is not allowed in certain areas. Your tour guide will notify you of these sections before entering.

15) WHAT LANGUAGES ARE AVAILABLE ON THE EXPERIENCE?
Our Tours and Experiences are in English.

16) I’M DRIVING, HOW CAN I MAKE THE MOST OF MY VISIT?

We are happy to provide a spittoon for visitors who wish to tour the distillery and taste (but not consume) our rums. Spitting minimizes alcohol intake, reducing the risk of intoxication that impacts your ability to drive safely. We reserve the right to refuse service to any customer who appears to be under the influence of alcohol, whether they are planning to drive or not.

17) WHERE CAN I PARK?
There is a car park opposite the Visitors Centre.

18) IS THERE A BAR?
Our Brighton Beach Deck and Bar offers a cocktail and bar bites menu with a view of the Caribbean Sea.

19) IS THERE A SHOP?
Our Shop offers Stade’s and Planteray Rums (including some exclusive releases only available at the distillery!) as well as local artisanal foods and Stade’s Rum Experience merchandise.

20) CAN I BRING MY OWN FOOD AND DRINK TO THE DISTILLERY?
Outside food and drinks are strictly prohibited inside the premises of the Stade’s Visitors Centre including the Beach Club.

21) IS THE DISTILLERY ACCESSIBLE TO DISABLED GUESTS?

Our Shop and Brighton Beach Deck & Bar are wheelchair accessible. The Distillery Tour route has multiple sets of steep stairs and is unsuitable for disabled guests.

23) ARE THE EXPERIENCES SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN?

All ages are welcome to experience the self-guided Rum Production + History Wall and access the Stade’s Rum Beach Club. However, you must be at least 18 years old to book the Stade’s Rum Distillery Tour Experience and partake in any tastings or purchase any cocktails, beverages, products, or merchandise containing alcohol.

24) CAN I BRING MY DOG?
Yes, we welcome pets at our Shop and Brighton Beach Deck and Bar. No animals are permitted on the distillery tour, for their safety and that of our employees.

25) CAN I GIVE AN EXPERIENCE AS A GIFT?
Yes, Gift Vouchers are available for all experiences.

26) HOW LONG ARE GIFT CARDS/E-VOUCHERS VALID FOR?
Gift vouchers are valid for 6 months from the purchase date.

27) WHAT IF MY VOUCHER HAS EXPIRED?

Kindly contact visit@stadesrum.com for assistance or call 1-246-850-9100. Our Experience Representative will monitor this line during opening hours and respond within 24 hours.

28) HOW CAN I BOOK A GROUP OF PEOPLE?

We recommend that groups book their visit a minimum of 3 weeks in advance to guarantee a slot. Contact our Experience Representative to plan your group visit with us. We can accommodate groups of up to 14 persons per tour. Please contact us at 1-246-850-9100) between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. After 5:00 pm, please send us a Whatsapp message for a response within 24 hours.

31) WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

Cancellations at least 48 hours before the start date of the tour result in a full refund of the tour price. A 50% refund of the tour price is given for cancellations made less than 48 hours but more than 24 hours before the scheduled tour time. No refund is given for cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled tour time.

34) IS SMOKING PERMITTED AT STADE’S RUM DISTILLERY?

Smoking is prohibited within the Distillery, Shop and Brighton Beach Deck and bar spaces. A designated smoking zone is provided near the Beach Deck.

35) WHAT HAPPENS IF I ARRIVE LATE FOR THE TOUR?

Late arrivals who have already paid for the full tour have the option to rebook for the next available tour (which may be the next day or later). If you booked a morning tour but arrived late, we will rebook you for the afternoon tour and offer you a complimentary Beach Experience until that tour departs.

36) HOW DO I MODIFY MY BOOKING?

Please contact us at 1-246-850-9100 between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. After 5:00 pm, please send us a Whatsapp message for a response within 24 hours.

37) HOW DO I RETRIEVE MY BOOKING IF I CAN’T FIND MY BOOKING EMAIL?

Please provide your ID and confirm the telephone number and email address used for the booking.
